Handcrafted objects from SBB Art & Crafts are made with natural materials and traditional techniques. Gentle handling preserves their character.
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbers, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme humidity.
Each piece may show natural variations in colour, texture, and finish — these are marks of authentic handmade craft, not flaws.
Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Dry immediately.
Avoid soaking or dishwashers. Keep away from heat sources and standing water.
Occasionally refresh with a food-safe mineral oil or beeswax polish suited to unfinished or oiled wood. Do not use silicone-heavy polishes that seal the surface permanently.
Hand-wash with mild soap and lukewarm water. Dry thoroughly.
Most decorative ceramics are not microwave- or dishwasher-safe unless labelled otherwise. Avoid sudden temperature changes that may cause cracking.
For glazed pieces, wipe gently — never use steel wool or abrasive cleaners on painted or glazed surfaces.
Dust regularly. Clean with a soft cloth. For brass, a mild brass cleaner or lemon-and-baking-soda paste can restore shine — rinse and dry completely.
Fingerprints are natural on polished metal; buff lightly as needed. Store in a dry place to limit tarnish.
Lacquered metal should only be wiped with a dry cloth — solvents can damage the finish.
Follow the care label on each piece. When in doubt, dry-clean or hand-wash in cold water with mild detergent.
Air dry flat or hang in shade. Avoid tumble drying and high-heat ironing on embroidered or block-printed fabrics.
Natural dyes may soften slightly over the first few washes — this is expected with authentic handloom textiles.
Ensure fixtures are switched off and cool before cleaning. Wipe shades and bases with a dry cloth.
Use only the recommended bulb wattage. Do not spray cleaners directly onto wiring, switches, or sockets.
For paper, cane, or fabric shades, dust gently — moisture can warp or stain delicate materials.
